Kevin Harvick takes his 3rd win competing in the 2010 Sprint Cup yesterday in Michigan. He won the Car fax 400 at Michigan International Speedway this past weekend clinching his spot in the Chase. He is now holding the lead by 293 points also adding 20 bonus points to his stats for passing Hamlin on the last lap of the race, which will kick in after Chase Field on Sept. 11th. Jeff Gordon follows Kevin Harvick in 2 place, with now almost 300 points behind. Kevin Harvick now has 30(10 for each win) and also prevented Hamlin from adding to his 50-point total. He now holds the record for the first driver to ever clinch a spot in Chase. Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for this is again his 3rd year this season.

Hamlin who took the spot from Stewart on Lap 178 ended up loosing his spot by Harvick on the last lap of the race! Kevin restarted in third, behind Tony Stewart after NASCAR threw a yellow flag for debris on Lap 167. Harvick was able to pass Hamlin on turn 3 and his Toyota was not able to hold through the last turn and Harvick won by 1.731 seconds. Kevin took a risk by staying out on the track under old tires, however was able to track Hamlin down and take home the victory. This was the first win Kevin has had at Michigan and marks number 14 for his career.
