For the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series, what exactly does Dale Earnhardt Jr and his JR Motorsports team have in store for the NASCAR and resultant NASCAR diecast fan/collector? Well, to start off with, let’s see who he has driving for them. First and foremost, there’s Dale himself. He’ll continue to drive in #5 or #7 car with plans on driving again in just a handful of races, but at this time, the exact amount is undetermined. His sponsors are Tax Slayer and Unilever. Below is one of his 2011 paint schemes. It’s the #7 Unilever Suave car as shown below:

The #7 car will also be driven by two other drivers on his team. They are Danica Patrick and Josh Wise. The Team’s plans are to have Danica pilot the car for approximately 11 races including the first 4 races of the season. She will continue to drive with “GoDaddy.com” as her primary sponsor. She will also run a “Tissot at Chicago and maybe more. Below is a picture of the 2011 Danica Patrick #7 GoDaddy car.

Josh Wise will take over for 6 races with the “Tax Slayer” sponsorship as the primary sponsor for the #7 car.

The other car in the JR Motorsports team will be the #88 Aric Almirola with which he will drive for Tax Slayer and Unilever. The Unilever sponsored cars will race with various well-known product brand names of theirs like; Suave, Ragu, Hellmanns and Degree. So, for the Aric Almirola 2011 diecast collector, there’s going to be much to choose from.

Excitement for the 2011 Season is Edward’s Thoughts

With the 2010 Nascar Sprint Cup Series over, there’s at least one driver that’s really excited for the next season to start. And that driver is Carl Edwards of Rousch Racing. He capped off the end of this year’s season by winning the final two races, both at Phoenix and Homestead Raceways. Although Jimmie Johnson won the series again for his 5th consecutive time, Edwards feels that he’s a better driver and loves where their team is at with their new engine which they feel is getting better too.

It’s important to keep in mind that although he’s won two consecutive races leading into the next season, it’s not really a fair barometer to gauge how he’ll fare. There has been a few drivers that have done this with not the greatest results. Most recently was Jeff Gordon in 1998. The next season he finished 6th in the points. Before that was Buddy Baker (1975) finishing 5th, then Bobby Allison (1967) finishing 11th as did Junior Johnson (1958) ending up with the same 11th place result. It’s only fair to note that both Allison and Johnson didn’t run full seasons following their two consecutive wins.

So, for those that might be betting on the Cup Series winner for next season, keep in mind that past history doesn’t bode that well for what seems like the best bet.

As the 2010 Sprint Cup Series ended at Homestead, Nascar diecast car collectors got to face the same ole dilemma. The Lowe’s car collecting dilemma. Many race fans would be excited to see a new face win the Series. While Jimmie Johnson’s winning it for a 5th time is a great feat, it’s not exciting for the diecast car collector. One of the reasons is simply due to the fact that the #48 Lowe’s car paint scheme hasn’t changed all that much, making it not very collectible. Marcos Ambrose in a Dewalt Car

Recently announced for pre-order for NASCAR diecast car collectors, Lionel NASCAR will be making the Dewalt car in 2011. That in itself isn’t big news. The weird thing is that the car will not be made for Matt Kenseth. Instead, it’ll be produced as a Marcos Ambrose Dewalt 2011 diecast for Richard Petty Motorsports. Here is a just released picture of it:

An additional oddity is that there wasn’t even a Dewalt diecast car made for 2010. Crown Royal was Kenseth’s primary sponsor this year. For collectors that have been doing it for years, it’s always somewhat strange and usually a welcomed change. Sponsorship and driver changes are two things that make for the potential of a highly demanded collectible diecast. Two other factors that add to their value are a driver’s on track performance and then ultimately production quantities.

Australian V8 Supercar champion in both 2003 and 2004, Marcos Ambrose does not appear to be a “flash in the frying pan” in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series which always bodes well for the collector. So with the sponsorship change from Clorox and Little Debbie with JTG Daugherty Racing to RPM and Stanley Black & Decker, both the diecast collector and Ambrose get a fresh, welcomed change.

Lionel NASCAR, formerly Motorsports Authentics and Action, will produce this in both general collectible scales of 1/24 and 1/64 diecast cars.

Bowyer Wins at Talladega Under Caution

Chevy that he drives for Richard Childress Racing (RCR). The race was declared over under a yellow flag for sixth and final time due to a multi-car crash involving AJ Allmendinger in which he flipped and actually went airborne. In accordance with NASCAR regulations, once the lead car passes the white flag on the final lap, then the race can end under a yellow flag. When race officials reviewed the tape and could see that Bowyer was slightly ahead of his teammate, Kevin Harvick in his #29 Realtree car, they declared Bowyer as the winner.

The last big excitement of the race came up on the final four laps of the race after the fifth caution for debris on the track. In that re-start, Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson dualed with Bowyer getting ahead by taking the inside position and getting pushed ahead with the drafting of Earnhardt Ganassi’s Juan Pablo Montoya. After the due of Bowyer and Montoya pulled away from the pack, with about 2 laps remaining, Kevin Harvick battled back up front with the aid of a drafting David Reutimann. The battling duo’s pitted Harvick and Bowyer to a side by side close finish which had to be reviewed to see who’s car was ahead when the final yellow was raised.

The race left the top three contenders for the Chase for the Sprint Cup only 38 points apart with Jimmie Johnson leading over second place Denny Hamlin by 14 points, and 38 points ahead of third place Kevin Harvick with only three races remaining.

Elliott Sadler Teams up Kevin Harvick Inc for 2011

Just announced at Texas Motor Speedway, Elliott Sadler will drive for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series for the upcoming 2011 year. The sponsorship for the #2 KHI Chevy will continue with Citifinancial.

For the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Sadler currently drives for Richard Petty Motorsports in the #19 Ford which splits sponsorship with Stanley Tools, Hunt Brothers Pizza and the U.S. Air Force. The latest word is that he’ll be leaving RPM at the end of this season.

Jeff Gordon sponsorship mix-up for 2011

Jeff Gordon gets a new primary sponsor for 22 races for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup season with “Drive to End Hunger” as the primary paint scheme. The Drive to End Hunger is a “cause-driven” approach to sponsorship by the AARP Foundation. The main cause is to end hunger in America especially among seniors over 60 years old. Dupont will continue to be a major sponsor, but for only 14 races as the primary paint scheme and then with Pepsi for 2 races.

Although the Gordon team will go through the sponsorship changes next season, the #24 Hendricks Motorsports car will keep Jeff Gordon in the driver’s seat along with his crew chief, Steve Letarte. Letarte has re-signed through 2013 and Gordon says he plans on driving at least through the 2013 season.

The Jeff Gordon diecast Dupont 2011 paint scheme is pictured below, but as of today, that is the only 2011 paint scheme released to the public.

Denny Hamlin Wins at Martinsville for FedEx

A win at Martinsville Speedway this past weekend on October 24th in Ridgeway, Virginia has moved Denny Hamlin to within 6 points of Jimmie Johnson in the “Race for the Sprint Cup Championship” for the 2010 Series. He drove his #11 FedEx Express Toyota to his 7th win of the season.

For the 2011 season, FedEx will again sponsor the Joe Gibbs Racing Hamlin car again with their four different variations of FedEx. These are their Express, Freight, Ground and Office brands. The 2011 renditions sport a cool purple background behind the car number on each brand name variation. But again, the primary paint scheme will be the Denny Hamlin 2011 FedEx Express car which will again be produced by Lionel Nascar, formerly Motorsports Authentics, in both 1/24 scale and 1/64 scale Nascar diecast car versions.

Special Ebay Motors Paint Scheme for Mark Martin

Ebay pulls out the marketing trick bag for a special paint scheme that adorned a NASCAR Sprint Cup car at the October 24th Martinsville race. The Hendricks Motorsports car was driven by Mark Martin who will be driving for one more season before retiring. His #5 car sported “Ebay Motors” on the deck-lid and on the rear quarter panels. The winner of the Ebay contest will have their name included on the paint scheme.

This Nascar diecast car will be made by Lionel Nascar, formerly Motorsports Authentics, in both 1/24 scale diecast and 1/64 scale diecast car versions. The Mark Martin diecast collectors will most certainly like adding this paint scheme to their collections.

Just released in time for the 2010 Halloween season race at Talladega is a totally cool paint scheme for Dale Earnhardt Jr to promote a short film called “The Legend of Hallowdega” in which Jr has a small part. This special paint scheme was just released for the general public news a few days ago on October 21, 2010.

This will more than likely be one of the more popular Nascar diecast cars for collectors for this 2010 season. For years while driving with Budweiser, Dale’s paint scheme didn’t vary much because of the stringent requirements that Bud placed upon the motorsports marketing department of DEI. Now with co-sponsor National Guard, Hendrick’s Motorsports is obviously given more flexibility.

Kevin Harvick remains with Richard Childress for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but gets a new sponsor in Budweiser. They will be the primary sponsor for 20 races. Time will tell to see what kind of success this brings Harvick and RCR with Budweiser bringing their motor-sports’ funds. Budweiser has now moved from the most popular NASCAR Sprint Cup driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr, then to Kasey Kahne who took over for the most popular driver for 16 seasons, Bill Elliott, and then now to Kevin Harvick. This is only one of the “musical chairs” sponsorship changes going on for the 2011 season.

Many Nascar diecast car collectors will be welcoming this change by grabbing this new car and driver combination paint scheme. In addition to the standard 1/24 scale diecast car, Lionel Nascar formerly Motorsports Authentics will be making the Kevin Harvick diecast Budweiser in both a “Kids” and standard 1/64 scale diecast version. This “Kids” version will not have “Budweiser” on the hood whereas the standard version will have “Budweiser” on the hood, but due to liquor advertising regulations, it will be affixed to a plastic base.

Ryan Newman raced these black and yellow colors proudly last weekend during Irwin Tools Event at Bristol Speedway. He ran this WIX Filters paint scheme on his No 39 Chevy Impala on August 21st in the Sprint Cup Series. He is currently holding 15th in standings with 12 races remaining for this season. This Ryan Newman WIX Filters Diecast collectable is produced by Motorsports Authentics and can be found under the action platinum series line. WIX Filters has earned their title throughout the years as they became an industrial member of NASCAR back in 1968. They are now an official NASCAR Performance Product, and has been used by more teams than any other product in history. WIX Filters has been under the hoods of these cars for more than a dozen Cup Championships at this time. Ryan currently competes full time in the Cup driving the No 39 Tornados/Haas Automation Chevy. It is final thatBudweiser and Kevin Harvick will team together for 20 races during the 2011 Sprint Cup Season. Budweiser began looking for a new driver around the same time Harvick needed a sponsor. Budweiser has been behind Kasey Kahne for the past 3 years starting in 2008. Kasey is moving to Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, and that agreement left the longtime NASCAR sponsor in search of its third driver. Kasey will race for Red Bull for the 2011 and will make the switch to Hendricks at the beginning of the 2012 season. Kevin Harvick currently holds the lead for the Chase in the Sprint Cup and is ahead by 293 points. Kevin Harvick’s No. 29 Chevrolet will hold the Budweiser tradition red paint scheme for 20 races during next season. They will also sponsor the two non-points races during Speedweeks as Harvick is the Budweiser Shootout champion for the past 2 years. Budweiser will not be sponsoring the Sprint All-Star Race as it will be a co-primary sponsor. They will remain an associate sponsor during the other 16 cup races for the season. NASCAR and Budweiser go back more than three decades, and we’re excited to have as successful driver like Kevin Harvick to usher in a new era for them. ~Marcos Ambrose moves to RPM for the 2011 Season

Richard Petty Motorsports announced on Tuesday that Marcos Ambrose and them will be working together for the next few years. He has signed a multi-year agreement starting next year for the 2011 season. He will drive the No 9 Ford Fusion and the primary sponsor for the team will be Stanley Black & Decker. Ambrose states he is very excited to join Richard Petty Motorsports and be part of this organization. He also says it will be nice to be back with Ford Racing for the new season. In 2007 Ambrose made his debut in the Truck Series while in a partnership with Ford Racing. He then moved to the Nationwide Series where he competed for the next 2 years until 2009. His first full season in the Sprint Cup was last year and he believes with the support of Ford and RPM they can continue the tradition of success. The team says they look forward to Ambrose joining as he is a very talented and passionate driver.

Carfax 400 Results

Kevin Harvick takes his 3rd win competing in the 2010 Sprint Cup yesterday in Michigan. He won the Car fax 400 at Michigan International Speedway this past weekend clinching his spot in the Chase. He is now holding the lead by 293 points also adding 20 bonus points to his stats for passing Hamlin on the last lap of the race, which will kick in after Chase Field on Sept. 11th. Jeff Gordon follows Kevin Harvick in 2 place, with now almost 300 points behind. Kevin Harvick now has 30(10 for each win) and also prevented Hamlin from adding to his 50-point total. He now holds the record for the first driver to ever clinch a spot in Chase. Congratulations to Kevin Harvick for this is again his 3rd year this season.

Hamlin who took the spot from Stewart on Lap 178 ended up loosing his spot by Harvick on the last lap of the race! Kevin restarted in third, behind Tony Stewart after NASCAR threw a yellow flag for debris on Lap 167. Harvick was able to pass Hamlin on turn 3 and his Toyota was not able to hold through the last turn and Harvick won by 1.731 seconds. Kevin took a risk by staying out on the track under old tires, however was able to track Hamlin down and take home the victory. This was the first win Kevin has had at Michigan and marks number 14 for his career.

Will Budweiser & Richard Childress Racing Team Up

Budweiser currently sponsors No 9 Ford of Richard Petty Motorsports and driver Kasey Kahne. They started sponsoring Kasey 3 years ago for the 2008 season.However, next year for the 2011 season Kasey is driving for Redbull Racing, and is moving to Hendrick Motorsports for the following season. Kasey will be replacing veteran Mark Martin in Hendricks No 5 Chevy for the 2012 Season.

Budweiser has had a long history in NASCAR and the past three years with Kasey Kahne which all they have enjoyed. They just are looking down a different path, and are not expected to stay with Richard Petty Motorsports. They are looking at all directions according to the driver/team sponsorship and will announce those plans within the next week. Budweiser started involving themselves with NASCAR back in the 1980s and has been a primary team sponsor ever since.

Currently Kevin Harvick is sponsored by Shell/Penzoil, which announced in April of this year that they had made plans with Kurt Busch. Penske Racing has struck a deal with Kurt to become the primary sponsor beginning next year(2011). This left Harvick and RCR team looking for a sponsor.

Harvick, has had 2 career wins this season, and currently leads in the standings for the 2010 Sprint Cup. Kevin also won the Budweiser shootout this year which is a non-point event held before the Daytona 500. He is 34 years old and has a total of 13 wins for his NASCAR career thus far.

Richard Petty Motorsports may possibly only have 2 teams next year if they loose Budweiser and teammates Kahne and Manard. There was a contract extension with AJ Allmendinger which they announced early last week. Richard Petty Motorsports have not announced any plans as of now for the 2011 season. Richard Petty and Foster Gillett did say they do have announcements planned for the following year.

Sour Cream Dips event last weekend at The Glen he ran MS. Green all around the track! He held MS Green proudly on his No 18 Toyota Camry as they raced to the finish line.

~Driver History~

Danica Patrick is an American NASCAR driver for the Nationwide Series and also competes in the IndyCar races. Danica won the Indy Japan 300 in 2008 which made who the first women to ever to win an Indy Car race. While competing she manages to model and be an advertising spokeswomen all at the same time. In 2005 she received an award for rookie of the year for the Indy Cars series. She recently this year in 2010 started competing in the Nationwide Series. Currently she races for JR Motorsports driving the No 7 GoDaddy.com Chevy Impala. Last year(2009) she placed 3rd in the Indianapolis 500 which made event history in NASCAR. This was the highest place finish a women has ever achieved, as well as her personal best record. So with this being Danica’s first year to race in the Nationwide Series, we will all want to get are hands on this NASCAR Diecast! So what happened at this weekend during this NASCAR event, the throttles were hammered and the heat was on! That amazing sound of those engines…Ok. No were used to that! Maybe it was the…Yes the last race for the Chase! Either way, this was a great race to be at. So who raced home with the victory on Saturday evening? Well he is a Colombian race car driver who was known for competing in Formula One and CART races across the world. Also holds the record for the driver with the 5th fastest lap while competing during the Daytona 500! This win did make his second Sprint Cup victory during his NASCAR career. He is happily married to Connie and they have 3 beautiful children. They have 2 sons, and 1 daughter and the blessing of success throughout his career! Who won.. who is it??? I can’t hear you??? One more time! Ok fine……….Yes, Juan did take home his 2nd Sprint Cup win on Saturday (8-9-10) at the Watkins Glen International Speedway showing his competitiveness ability to drive, and determined to win! So lets all celebrate and honor this Target Diecast with the team as the Sprint Cup 2010 has delivered major rewarding results that everyone will remember. Unfortunately, Juan Montoya has competed in 113 races without a win but does hold 7 top-10′s in standings. More Details: During the end of the race with only 1 lap to go, Kyle stole second from right under his nose. Just right during the last lap(89) of the race, right on the start/finish line of the final lap(90). Ambrose took 3rd, and came in right behind him with Carl Edwards within 10 seconds taking home 5th!! Great race as there was enough tension to cut the ribbon without the car!! This race had everyone on the edge of there seat including the drivers. The 2010 Sprint Cup 2010 season is coming to a end! A.J. Allmendinger was also feeling additional pressure as he recently extended his contract with Richard Petty Motorsports. This was Carl Edwards 6th consecutive race finishing in the top 10, placing 5th for this one. However, when it comes to the bottom of it. Montoya ran the track that evening and it was clear. He had all the field covered and kept the lead for 74 laps. Crossing over the line felt great, and he was honored to win racing his No 42 Target Diecast Chevy! Congratulations to Juan Montoya during this event for the Sprint Cup. He passed the finish line ahead of Kyle by 5 seconds and the next 5 followed closely behind. The other driver’s also commented how well he ran this track that evening. Throughout the whole race Montoya and Ambrose held the attention in the front of the field. He is a great driver, and I had nothing on his driving this weekend. He came to win and he really deserved it with the way he moved his car.Montoya said great come back from where we ended last week, as it was very disappointing for them at Pocono last week. Racing in the top 5 and hitting a pit stop late he ended up loosing his position and not qualifying. Juan made record settings as he was the first driver with not 1 win for over 50 laps and he came back to prove himself in his No. 42 Target Chevy. Zippo 200 at The Glen

This weekend’s Zippo 200 NASCAR event will be at the Watkins Glen International Speedway, near Watkins Glen New York. This race track is located at the southern tip of Seneca Lake, which is the largest and deepest lake in the state. This facility can hold over 40,000 people, and with its location it became quite famous. This track was mostly known around the U.S. as The Grand Prix Track. The Grand Prix was hosted here for 20 consecutive years(1961-1980), however it will remain home to road racing as every class has raced here for over 50 years. The track sits in the village of Watkins Glen and is famous for auto racing and the beautiful waterfalls.The speedway is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation and has been open since 1953. The nickname The Glen came about very easily as people just shortened the tracks name and it stuck!

The Zippo 200 has been ran since 2005 & this event marked the return of NASCAR’s lower-tier series to the Glen. The Zippo 200 is 82 laps long and just over 200 miles in distance. The first race took place back in 1991 and is corporately sponsored by Zippo Manufacturing Company.

Sprint Cup Series

Sprint Cup Series is the top racing series in NASCAR. It started as Strictly Stock Series and Grand National Series then was known as Winston Cup from 1971-2003 and then Nextel Cup up until 2007. From 2007 until currently it has held the name Sprint Cup Series, however overall you can call it simply NASCAR. No matter the name this was still the division that raced stock cars. These engines have the capability to reach 200 mph, however the handling is difficult on these car due to high weight. Roush Fenway Racing Owner Involved in Plane Crash

Jack Moves up to Fair Condition

Roush Fenway Racing’s owner Jack Roush was involved in a plane crash while he was attending Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture. He has survived the crash at age 68, and at this point he is in fair condition. This is an upgrade from his condition last week after the unfortunate accicent that took place in Wisconsin. He currently is in Minnesota at the mayo-clinic where he will stay for a couple weeks to continue his recovery. Jack will walk away from this accident with facial scars, and a memory that is unforgettable. In 2002, he was also involved in a plain crash which he survived. He is a tough cookie, and plans to stay that way for the rest of his stay. While recovering he received a boost that driver Greg Biffle won the Cup Series race at Pocono. Greg said before taking the victory home that evening that this one is for Jack!! This longtime owner has been involved in NASCAR garages for decades. Keep Jack in our thoughts while he is in recovery, and we all wish you well!!!

Greg Biffle takes the win at last weekend’s event Red Cross 500 making this the 15th victory for the Sprint Cup Series. He raced his No 16 3M Ford Fusion Saturday evening at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA. He was pleased to leave the Iowa International Speedway with another win added to his Sprint Cup Career. Greg Biffle and his team Roush Fenway Racing has supported Red Cross racing for several years now. Greg is a member of Red Cross and donates blood regular, showing his support. Red Cross Racing allows you to earn point for donating your blood, and Greg loves to share the word on how important this really is! This year Red Cross Racing will give away a new 2011 Ford Fiesta, to show their appreciation of everyone helping out. Thanks to Ford Motor Company as they made this new car possible. Greg competes in both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup series for the 2010 season. He currently holds 11th for Sprint Cup, and 26th for Nationwide Series! Kyle Busch wins again!

Kyle Busch takes his 9th victory win in the Nationwide Series this weekend 7-21-10 during the 250 Cellular event! Kyle has won 6 races out of the past 7 starts during this year’s 2010 season, making this # 39 for his career. He dominated this race at the Iowa Speedway in front of 55,000 fans or more. Brad Coleman practiced in this No.18 Toyota for that morning for the U.S. Cellular 250 Event, as Kyle ran into delays due to the rain. Brad Coleman is Kyle’s backup driver for the No.18 and he was ready to get on if Kyle did not make the race. He made it with not much time but once he did arrive, he had the No 18 qualified for the race within minuets. He started the race driving this No. 18 Z-Line Designs/Nos Energy Drink Diecast and earned 2nd position in just his first lap. Looks like Kyle has became pretty comfortable and confident with his car, team and his driving, taking this victory with no practice at all! Kyle joked with Crew chief after the race “saying he might just not practice anymore, I thinkI screw up more when I prcatice”!

Kyle Busch was not able to take the pole that evening on top of this win, but did maintain the lead four times for 209 laps. With only 42 laps to go after a pit stop, he restarted in sixth place and was up in 2nd in just seconds Kyle’! He got right behind Kevin Harvick who only changed the right tires at pit stop, while Kyle’s crew had all 4 tires changed. The team was amazed as that is what they needed and wanted of Busch, it just was not expected to happen all in one lap. Then after several laps, but still 24 remaining Kyle passed Kevin with hopes to take the win. During this Nationwide there was 2 flags in the first 100 laps, this was the second time for Iowa Speedway to see that record!This NASCAR Diecast will be one to put in the collection, just look at all the records and achievements he had made. Kyle is 25 this year, and would like to add several more victories to his Career for this 2010 Season!

Jamie Mcmurray Wins Brickyard 400

Jamie McMurray pulled a win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend July 25th, at the 2010 Brickyard 4oo Event. Jamie McMurray raced the No 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevy, and earned $438,877 for this incredible victory. He was just 1.391 seconds ahead of Kevin Harvick, which raced the No 29 Shell/Pennzoil Chevy. This was a huge victory for the team, and for owner Chip Ganassi, it was the biggest win of his life! The Brickyard 400 is NASCAR’s most–attended event, pulling in a crowd of more than 250,000 fans. It is also NASCAR’s second highest paying race in dollars, right behind the Daytona 500. With this win(Brickyard 400) and the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race won by Dario Franchitti, and the 2010 Daytona 500 also won by Jamie, that makes 3 major sports victories in just one year. The team received a triple crown making this event a special victory in global motorsports history. Jamie now also holds history of the 3rd driver to win the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 in the same year. This was achieved only twice before in NASCAR history, once in 1996 by Dale Jarrett, and then in 2006 by Jimmie Johnson. Jamie says” It’s unbelievable” as they didn’t even have one of the best cars on the track that evening. Kevin was ahead of Jamie with only 10 laps to go, and he did what he had to do and his racing skills to work! The Brickyard 400 is an annual 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup point race that is held at the Indainapolis Speedway. This event started back in 1994, and was the 2nd event to ever be held at the Indianapolis Speedway since 1916. The course was paved in brick back in 1909, and still has a one-yard strip of brick at the start and finish line. That is where they got the name Brickyard, as this has been the nickname for this Speedway for several years now. Jimmie Johnson and four-time Brickyard 400 winner Jeff Gordon both struggled during this event placing Johnson in 22nd and Gordon 23rd.

Carl Edwards penalized for insadent with Brad Keselowski Full Story

After several years of continued feud and too many accidents between Edwards and Keselowski NASCAR finally took a stand! Carl Edwards was officially penalized during race at Raceway International Speedway last Sunday while competing in the Nationwide Series. This is the first time that there has been action taken for this kind of behavior. Everybody in the Roush Fenway Racing Team is affected by Edwards decision, as they had several points deducted for aggressive driving. The official penalties caused them loss of 60 points for the actions of Edwards during his 2010 Nationwide Series. Team also took an additional loss of 60 points in the Championship Owner Points Standings. Personally, Edwards received a fine of 25,000 dollars, and was placed on probation until the end of the 2010 season. Do you you think this is out of line? Think these penalties are to harsh for what he did? Fine to high? Let’s go with a no, Check out the top all-time NASCAR penalties and maybe you will look again at the outcome.

Saturday, July 17th Carl Edwards hit the car of Brad Keselowki causing him to spin out on last lap just so he could win the race. The impact from Edwards ramming into him caused him to hit the retaining wall and hit other competitors. However, the main cause of this crash caused Brad Keselowski to loose the event that evening at the Raceway International Speedway. Earlier, at the beginning of the race Brad actually tagged Edwards car, so we could say this was all trying to get even or for pay back. However, in the end both Brad and Edwards paid for the continued feud that these NASCAR drivers have for eachother. Keselowski walked away with no victory that evening, and Edwards faces many penalties for his actions taken on the track. For this 2010 season this is the second incident that has happened between the two. Earlier during the beginning of the season Edwards also caused Keselowski to crash at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Yes, Edward took the win but was it worth what he is facing today? What if Edwards admitted that he intentionally caused Brad to crash that evening so he could take the victory! Will this stop the friction between these two drivers?

Outcome of this as far as standings in the Nationwide Series. Edwards did still win the race yes, but he still remains second to Keselowski, and only trails behind him by228 points!

In 2006 it was determined by the committee itself that they needed an actual building for the Hall of Fame. They chose the location to be in Charlotte N.C. by popular vote, and started to take action the following year. The doors recently opened in May of 2010, and was a ground breaking $160 million for the NASCAR facility. In addition, there is a 20-story office building that opened in May of 2009. This building is 390,000 square feet, and consist of their licensing division, related offices, and the NASCAR Digital Media Center.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is located in Charlotte N.C. just 15 mins from the Douglas International Airport. For the city of Charlotte this addition has had many positives, such as the increase of tourism and hundreds of jobs that became available! The city of Charlotte owns the Hall of Fame and was also responsible for all the construction for the building. However the city is not running the building, it is operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame honors people such as all-time great crew chiefs, owners, major contributors, and of course drivers who have shown exceptional skill in this sport. It holds all the history from the down-home stock car racing to the legendary drivers and their cars. They did a great job at packing in everything that is great about NASCAR, and it’s History. In this 3 story Wall of Fame building they have amazing artifacts, simulator rides, interactive exhibits, and a High Octane Theater. It does not matter if you have been here before, as you will always encounter something new at this incredible NASCAR hall of Fame Building. While enjoying the History behind it all or looking at one of your favorite drivers, you can stop and grab a bite at the Cafe’ or Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant located right inside. We want you to remember it all, so before you leave don’t forget your souvenir from the gift shop which can keep your great experience in mind.

The first piece added to the wall of fame was the Plymouth Belvedere that Richard Petty drove in 1967 for 27 different wins. He Richard Dale Inman helped unveil this great artifact after doors were open in 2010.

On July 15th NASCAR announced the list of the 25 nominees for the second induction of the Hall of Fame! There will be 5 people chosen from this list, and it is on you to help decide who will go. This second round of nominees consist of many sports legendary names which were selected by a 21-person committee. So they choose the 25 nominees the the 54 members choose 5 from the list that were nominated! The HOF’s inductees which will vote for the 5 candidates consist of drivers, owners, crew chiefs, media members, retired competitors, and other recognized industry leaders. The Nationwide vote will count as the number 54th vote on the panel! You may vote on NASCAR.COM at this time for who you think should make the amazing Hall of Fame of NASCAR! Next year’s 2011 Hall of Fame will be announced this October and will be announced next year in Charlotte N.C. There are 4 new members that will be joining the Panel this year! This Micheal Waltrip’s Diecast started when he moved away from full-time driving. The team then began fielding a fourth car for him this year(2010) the No 51, which is the inverse of the #15, which is the car that Waltrip drove for the two Daytona Victories!! He Did it!!!!! Last weekend while competing in the Nationwide Series, he won the Subway Jalapeno 250 event in Daytona! As he came to the last half of the race Earnhardt Jr dominated the track, you could tell this win was very important to him! Earnhardt Jr. jumps back to the Sprint Cup this weekend where he will race in the Lifelock 400 event at Chicago Speedway!! He has a packed schedule this year, competing in over 40 events this year for both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series! This will be his 22nd start for the Sprint Cup Series at the upcoming race in Chicagoland! He has had a great season this year, and has high hopes to finish it off with a bang in Miami at Homestead Raceway during the Ford 400! Earnhardt Jr. continues to hold the record with Bill Elliot for having the Most popular driver award seven different times since 1956! This year will mark the 11th season that he has competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series! He has had 39 total victories from 1998-2007 while competing in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series! He is the 3rd generation of NASCAR Champions and definitely follows the legend of his father, which was a seven-time Cup Champion and the winner of over 70 races! It was even got emotional on pit row that evening and more so for Tony Eury Jr. who was the one who crew-chiefed the car! New 2010 Style Cars for Nationwide Series

As of now… The new style cars that everyone is pretty excited about, will be fully track ready for the 2011 Season. The new designs have been put to the test twice so far this season, once at Daytona and the other at Talladega! All responses to the new Nationwide cars have been overwhelming positive, as far as looks is concerned! This year’s season for the Nationwide Series will end on November 20th with the Ford 300 at the international speedway in Homestead Florida. This year will make the 29th season for this series, and 35 races were on the schedule for the NASCAR 2010 Season! The official schedule for this year’s 2010 Season was announced last year on Feb. 15th during one of the last races of the 09 Season. Ford and Dodge have introduced their new designs and models in four Nationwide races this year, putting them to the test for up to four hours at a time!Toyota and Chevrolet, the other two competitors in the series, will also introduce new designs in these four races, but plan to continue using their brands — the Camry and Impala, respectively! We will eventually have these NASCAR Diecast in stock as they put them on the track during next years events! These designs are much more appealing to the eye, less boxy and nothing like the last cars that were introduced in 2006! Kevin Harvick even commented during an interview saying, “It’s really a neat-looking race car. 2010 New Style Nationwide Series Car

New cars were tested for several hours this Wednesday June 30th at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Florida. The cars were first tested last year during a 2 day trial at Daytona on May 19th 2009 and then again at Talladega on November 2nd. They have high hopes of this car being on the track for the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series! The drivers love the new Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Impala and the Toyota Camry and you won’t hear them calling these cars ugly. Brad Keselowski and Carls Edwards spoke about there thoughts on the new style and are very pleased and excited to race these in the 2011 Nationwide Series!

Martin is well know for both wins in the Nationwide Series Championships in 2004 and 2005 . While competing in the Sprint Cup Series this year at Charlotte Motor speedway, Martin will feature The Cure on his No 56 in support of Breast Cancer. For this year’s 2010 Season Martin Truex Jr will drive the No 56, which what the number his father drove during his time in the Grand National Division. He formerly drove for Ganassi Racing where he drove the No 55 while competing in the Sprint Cup Series. New Nationwide Challenger Brad & Justin 2010

This year during the Nationwide 2010 Series the new Challenger bodies will get on the track for the first time in July at Daytona raceway! The first two cars will be the #12 & #22, both with special paint schemes of there own! The #12 Dodge Challenger will be holding a one time Verizon paint scheme with driver Justin Allgaier. Then the #22 Dodge Challenger will be drivin by Brad Keselowski with this special Discount Tire paint scheme. Currently these drivers are racing for Penske Racing, and are happy to bring the Challenger to the track for the first time! These NASCAR Diecast are produced by CFS and are under the Champion Series. The CFS is a combination of 2 distinct series together. One being the Contender Series which features both the 1:64 & 1:24 scale replicas. Then the Champion Series which will only be available on 1:24 scale, however is a more highly detailed replica. With both of these coming from the Champion Series and the first time to put the Challenger on the track there will be limited quantities made. Since 2007 CFS engineers spend several days painstakingly measuring actual team cars to make sure they got every detail correct! There are over 118 individual parts, and both of these Dodge Challenger Diecast will have a numbered plate on the bottom to distinguish it as a true collectable. These Diecast even go as far as detail to the antenna, roof camera, interior, and opening driver net. This car has not been on the track since 2002, and everyone was waiting for the day to see it back out there! Well we got it, and now it couldn’t come fast enough!! As some may know yesterday Dale would have been 59 years old. However, he was killed on Feb.18th of 2001 during a crash that will never be forgot in NASCAR history! This NASCAR Diecast will be a collectable that all of us will want to get our hands on! Dale Jr is very proud to race this No 3 in honor of his father Dale Earnhardt!! This is a very devastating and unforgettable day at the track for him! He was racing right next to his father in the event that changed NASCAR forever! Darrell Gwynn was paralyzed from the chest down in an on-track accident just one month after his 1990 Gatornationals victory. As a tribute to Darrell Gwynn’s second Gainesville victory at the 1990 Gatornationals, Kalitta Motorsports donated a dragster to show Gwynn’s marquee paint scheme during this year’s races. The special dragster is to honor him and his achievements and it also will recognize the Darrell Gwynn Foundation’s ongoing work to provide education about spinal cord injury prevention. In addition to the tribute car, an almost perfect replicated 20th Anniversary Coors Extra Gold Special will show a version of his 1990 Top Fuel dragster which will be displayed on the track midway. He has won 28 national events and also made the quickest run in NHRA history at the time. In his Coors Extra Gold Special, he won the 1989 U.S. Nationals and 1990 Gatornationals. Also in 1990 he set a record of 4.909 seconds at Houston Raceway Park in Texas. Just one month later, his career was ended by the tragic Sunday crash at England’s Santa Pod Raceway. A New crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr was announced May 28th!

We all knew that this was coming! Hendrick Motorsports named Lance McGrew as interim crew chief of the #88 Sprint Cup Series team of driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. starting on June 7th at Pocono Raceway. Team manager Brian Whitesell will lead the team this weekend at Dover. “Our performance hasn’t been where it should be,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “It’s impossible to pin that on any one factor, but a change is the right decision at this point. We have a plan in place, and we’re going to move forward with it.” Whitesell and Rex Stump, Hendrick Motorsports’ lead chassis engineer, have been assigned to support McGrew on a full-time basis. Whitesell, who won two of seven races as Jeff Gordon’s interim crew chief in 1999, will join McGrew and team engineer Tom Stewart on the #88 pit box to assist with race strategy. “We’re going to put our full resources toward improving the situation and winning races,” Hendrick said. “It’s going to be a collective effort that includes all of our drivers, all of our crew chiefs and all of our engineers. Everyone in our company will be involved on some level.” Tony Eury Jr. will move into a key role with Hendrick Motorsports’ research and development group. Eury posted one victory, one pole position, 19 top-10 finishes and 11 top-fives in 48 races with the #88 team.

If this change is successful, and Dale Jr’s performance improves, it will help the sport all around.
