Robert Gordon was born in California on January 2 in 1969
and is an all around American racecar driver. Currently he drives the No 7
Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and also competes part-time in the
Nationwide Series driving the No 55 Toyota Camry. He has also raced in the
Camping World Truck Series, Champ Car, the IRL, Trans-Am, IMSA, IROCand the Dakar Rally. Gordon is regarded as
one of the best road course drivers in NASCAR as he has competed in several
events throughout his career and in different Series. Gordon is currently an
owner and driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and races his own No 7 Toyota
Camry while he competes. He has won
several races through out his career and in 2004 is when he decided that he
would be operating his own NEXTEL Cup Team. Then the Next year in 05 Gordon had
moved his Busch Series team up to the Nextel Cup and was the only driver/owner
left! During this Season his primary sponsor was Jim Beam Bourbon and his crew
chief was Greg Erwin! That Season Robort struggled as he only had two top 10’s
in 29 starts and failed to qualify for several races. The following year Gordon ended up with 2 top
tens and placing 24th in the point standings, so he was very happy
for improvement! Then this year during the 2010 Season his car was found to
have illegal parts during inspection on May 7th 2010 before a race
at Darlington Raceway. His crew chief was placed on probation for the rest of
the year, and Gordon had to pay a total of 290,000 to NASCAR!! Rule violations!
