   Jeff Gordon's Career started when he joined USAC at the age of 16. He won three sprint car track championships before he turned the young age of 17. He continued to race and by 1989, he had won over 100 races.  He also won the USAC Midget Championship in 1990. Then Jeff moved on to compete in Nationwide Series driving the #1 Carolina Ford. The first year he drove he won Rookie of the Year Award and was made pretty famous in NASCAR. Jeff made a big step in 1992, when he signed with Hendrick Motorsports, and the following year he qualified for the Daytona 500 by taking a victory in the 125-race. Time rolled on for Jeff and in 1995, he won the first of 4 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championships.  He also holds the title for the first driver to reach a $100 million in winnings, and also to hit 50 victories before anyone else in NASCAR. Jeff currently has 82 career wins in the cup series and is on of the best know drivers in NASCAR. 2010-Currently for the Sprint Cup Jeff drives the No 24 Dupont/Pepsi Chevy Impala. He is best known as a 4 time Cup Championship winner and 3 time Daytona 500 winner. Jeff Gordon will make his 600th start for his career on July 10th at the Chicagoland Speedway during the lifelock.com 400 event. He currently holds 2nd in the Sprint Cup competing for the Chase, and has earned close to 4,000,000 for his winnings this year. He was very proud to announce the birth of his new baby boy at the Michigan International Speedway this year. Jeff is the co-owners of the #48 Lowe's sponsored team which has won several events in the sprint Cup Series thanks to driver Jimmie Johnson and the team. At Martinsville Jeff was leading with 2 laps to go but got a bump from Matt Kenseth and a charge from Denny Hamlin and the #24 DuPont team took a 3rd place finish. Also held the lead at the Crown 400, but was passed by Kyle Busch and left taking home second. He is holding second in the chase standings as of now(8-17-10) after the Carfax 400 event last weekend. This weekend he will compete at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the Irwin Tools Night Race on 8/21/10
