Greg
Biffle was born in 1969 on December 23rd, in Vancouver Washington and began his
racing on short tracks around the Pacific Northwest right where he grew up in
Washington. His debut in NASCAR came in 1996 where he ran in the final two
Busch Series. In 1997 he won the most popular driver award at the NASCAR
Northwest Series. Also following up that in 1999 he had a killer record of 9
wins in a single-season, and still holds that title to this day. Biffle then
passed his Roush teammate at Kurt Busch by 230 points winning the Truck Series
title with another five win season. This was his first championship in one of
NASCARs three major series. He then announced in 2001 that he had joined the
Busch Series full time, and held fourth place in the final standings earning
the Rookie of the year award. However not until 2003 did he start competing
full-time in NASCAR’s top divisions, and that year he had a win at Pepsi 400 at
Daytona. Biffle made a name for himself in his sophomore season in 2004,
earning the pole in the Daytona 500. He then signed a 3-year extension contract
with Roush Fenway Racing, even though he had no wins during the 26-race season
in 2008. This time he did make it for Chase in the Sprint Cup and won the first
two races, one at Dover and New Hampshire. He currently holds the title for the
only driver to win the first two Chase races in 1 season. The following year in
2009, he failed to record any wins while racing in Chase for the second time!!
2010- He currently drives the #16 for Roush Fenway Racing as well as #27 for
Baker Curb Racing. Greg won the Red Cross 500 event at Sunoco Speedway 2
weekends ago. While competing in the Sprint Cup Series this victory made # 15th
for his total career win! Greg Maintained the lead for 30 laps that evening in
Pennsylvania knowing he was going to leave with this one under his belt! Greg
said before even taking this one home that he was going to win for Jack. Jack
the team's owner (Roush Fenway Racing) was involved in a plane crash. He has
been released however received scaring due to this one. He was in the hospital
for over a week due to major face injuries.Greg did qualify for the Chase this year and is currently holding 11th
in the standings only 487 points behind the leader Kevin Harvick.
